The Five Pillars of Islam

 The Five Pillars of Islam are the five basic ways of worship that are farz on for all Muslims. 

These pillars are


Shahada: Shahadat is called the first kalma of islam also. The declaration of faith, which is to bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad PBUH is his prophet.


Salah: Salah is called Namaz also. The performance of the five daily prayers, which are Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. These prayers are to be performed facing your front to the Kaaba in Mecca.


Zakat: Zakat is the third pillar of islam. The giving of alms or charity to the poor and needy. Muslims are required to donate a percentage of their wealth to those in need.


Sawm: Sawm is called in arabic Roza. Roza is farz in Ramzan kareem. Fasting during the month of Ramadan, which is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims are required to abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs from dawn until sunset.


Hajj: Hajj is the fourth pillar of islam. The pilgrimage to the holy city of Meccah, which is mandatory for every Muslim who can afford it at least once in their lifetime. The hajj takes place during the month of Dhul-Hijjah, which is the twelvth month of the Islamic calendar.
